School systems, and where the assessment fits
- Grade 9 subject choice
- The stream ranking helps choose a subject package for Grades 10–12, and its note on what each option closes off reads directly onto the Mathematics question.
- Matric year and applications
- For Grade 11 and 12 learners, the Class 11–12 report’s career matches help set university programme preferences.
- Subjects that gate health and engineering
- Medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and engineering ask for Mathematics and Physical Sciences, and the health sciences usually want Life Sciences too. If the report ranks a science stream first, those are the subjects to keep.
Studying in South Africa, or elsewhere
- Universities rank applicants by an Admission Point Score calculated from matric results, with minimum subject requirements per programme.
- Some programmes also require the National Benchmark Tests.
- TVET colleges offer vocational qualifications and routes into work.
- Applications to universities in KwaZulu-Natal go through the Central Applications Office, while most universities elsewhere take them directly.

You do not need to be planning on an Indian college to use this. The assessment looks at you, not at a syllabus or a country: what interests you, how you work, how you reason, and which careers and fields of study fit that. It is open to students of any nationality, and they use it to choose subjects and a direction for study in South Africa or anywhere else.
For a South African learner the profile and career matches are the useful part and apply at home. The Indian colleges, entrance exams and rupee salary bands in the report are not a guide to South African universities or pay.
