Who this is for in UAE

The UAE has the largest Indian community anywhere outside India, and its Indian-curriculum schools run from small Sharjah schools to Dubai campuses with several thousand students. A student here often has parents from one Indian state, classmates from six, and a plan for college that changes every time a relative visits.

School systems, and where the assessment fits

CBSE schools
The Class 8–10 report ranks all five streams exactly as a CBSE school in the Emirates offers them, and the Class 11–12 report works through the degrees and entrance exams that follow. Both fit a CBSE student here without translation.
Kerala-board and ICSE schools
A smaller number of UAE schools follow the Kerala state syllabus or ICSE and ISC. The subject combinations differ in name, not in the decision, and the stream ranking reads the same way.
British, American and IB schools
Many Indian families in Dubai choose a GCSE, A-level or IB school. For them the stream report is best read as a guide to subject choice at 16 rather than a literal list of Indian streams.

From UAE to a college in India

  • DASA reserves supernumerary seats at NITs and other centrally funded institutes for students who studied Class 11 and 12 abroad, using JEE Main scores.
  • Within DASA, the CIWG category is for children of Indian workers in the Gulf. Check the current DASA brochure for which countries and documents qualify.
  • NRI-quota MBBS and BDS seats at deemed universities and in several states are allotted on NEET-UG scores.
  • JEE Main has in recent years been held in the UAE, so engineering aspirants need not fly to India for it.

Staying in UAE, or going elsewhere

  • Universities in the UAE are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation; check a programme is listed before committing.
  • Branch campuses of Indian institutions, including BITS Pilani, Manipal and Amity, teach Indian-style degrees in Dubai.
  • Families who plan a third country (Canada, the UK, Australia) usually decide in Class 11, when subject choices start to matter for admissions.
