- Building a season's range around a colour story, a price point and a customer
- Sourcing fabric and trims, and finding out what is actually available at that cost
- Drawing tech packs precise enough for a factory to cut from without calling you
- Sitting through fittings and correcting a sample until the fall is right
- Walking the production floor when a bulk order starts going wrong

- What the education journey is really like
- NIFT, NID or a private design school such as Pearl Academy, with entrance preparation that rewards months of drawing and reasoning practice rather than syllabus recall. The degree matters less than the portfolio and the sampling experience behind it. Many designers spend their first years in a buying house learning what a factory can build.

Needs working capital and patience with inventory, but it is a genuinely open route now.
Who may not enjoy being a Fashion Designer?
